SANDWICH – Sandwich Mayor Rich Robinson, in an effort to acknowledge the importance and the many contributions of Fox Valley Community Services, proclaimed September as National Senior Center Month in the City of Sandwich, according to a news release.
Fox Valley Community Services (FVCS) was cited a catalyst for mobilizing the creativity, energy, vitality, and commitment of the older residents of DeKalb, Kane, Kendall and LaSalle Counties. Through a wide array of services, programs, and activities FVCS empowers older adults to contribute to their own health and well-being and the well-being of their fellow citizens.
Although Fox Valley Community Center is closed to the public at this time the ever-popular Parking Lot Series is up and running.

Drive-thru flu clinics with Jewel-Osco of Yorkville and Walgreens of Sandwich are Wednesday, Oct. 7 (rain date Oct. 8) noon to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 13 (rain date Oct. 14) 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call the Center for more information at 815-786-9404.
Home Service aides have continued to serve clients in all four counties, DeKalb, Kane, Kendall and LaSalle. Aides are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment and answer COVID-19 screening questions before serving each client.
Adult Day Service is reopening, and those interested are encouraged to call 815-786-9404 for information.
Voluntary Action Center under federal and state direction has closed the congregate lunch meal held at the FVCS site until further notice.
Voluntary Action Center is currently running Transportation and Meals On Wheels at FVCC. Please call 815-787-6219 for information.
