Severe storms, possible tornadoes causing damage across northern Illinois

A line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing widespread severe wind damage and tornadoes is moving across northern Illinois on Monday afternoon.

As of 3:30 p.m., a line of severe thunderstorms stretched from McHenry County south through Kane, Kendall and Grundy Counties south into central Illinois.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for northeastern Will County and DuPage County until 4 p.m.

Tree damage and power outages have been reported throughout northern Illinois.
