Spring Valley woman charged with car theft, forgery

A drunken driving arrest in suburban Chicago helped Peru police close an investigation into a vehicle theft and forgery.

Katie M. Lynch, 25, of Spring Valley, was charged with DUI at 12:30 a.m. Monday by the Westmont Police Department, Peru police said in a news release.

Lynch also was a suspect in a motor vehicle theft and, when stopped by Westmont PD, was driving and in possession of that stolen vehicle, police said.

Lynch was also a suspect in a residential burglary/forgery case Peru police detectives had been working on, police said. She was later questioned by Peru Police Detectives regarding the stolen vehicle, burglary and forgery. Following the investigation, Lynch was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft and forgery and transported to La Salle County Jail.
