SYCAMORE – State Rep. Jeff Keicher, R-Sycamore, and the Kishwaukee Family YMCA will be hosting a blood drive in partnership with the Versiti Blood Center of Illinois from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. July 8 at the YMCA, 2500 Bethany Road.
As a safety precaution, donations will be by appointment only (no walk-ins), and face coverings will be required, according to a news release. To make an appointment, visit www.donate.illinois.versiti.org.
“There continues to be a severe blood shortage in Illinois amidst the COVID-19 pandemic,” Keicher said in a news release. “To host this blood drive at this time, we are taking into account all the necessary safety precautions for volunteers, donors and staff. Our community has already come together in so many ways to help each other out. This is just one more way we can continue to do that, and in this case we can help save lives.”
Spots are limited for blood donation, so interested residents should make an appointment as soon as possible.
