SYCAMORE – Sycamore City Council will make several appointments at its meeting Monday night..
The council will vote to appoint David Stouffer to Sycamore’s Fire and Police Commission at 7 p.m. inside the council chambers at the Sycamore Center. The council will also vote on Eamon Verdone to the Sycamore Library Board, and Ron Cerutti to the Sycamore Architectural Review Committee, according to the Sycamore City Council Agenda.
There will be a consideration addressed that recommends a change order for the City of Sycamore’s Wastewater Treatment Plant project.
The project was awarded to Leander Construction Inc. on Jan. 7 for $19,908,967 and construction continues with a scheduled completion set for late 2020.
Sycamore’s consulting engineer, McMahon Engineers, received four change requests from Leander Construction, which includes: modifying the siding from a vinyl material to a 24-gauge commercial grade siding consistent with the existing buildings for $37,657.43, changes to structure steel for stairs at the Sequencing Batch Reactor Tank and Building for $7,930.76, increased thickness of precast concrete blanks to accommodate blower equipment loading for $5,922.63, and additional grounding rod and cable for the sequencing batch reactor tank and building for $2,870.28.
None of the change requests add construction time to the project.
If the change order requests are approve by council, they then go to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency for final approval.
