Sycamore taking orders for tree program

SYCAMORE – The city of Sycamore announced it is accepting orders for its tree program between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the city clerk’s office located at 308 W. State St.

With the program, the city will pay 50% of the cost of each tree. Residents can choose from among 10 species of trees to have delivered and planted in their yards. Brochures and order forms are available on the city website. They also are available on the city Facebook page, at the clerk’s office, or call 815-895-4515 to have them mailed.

Resident costs are $205 a tree, except if the resident chooses a Kentucky coffeetree, which will cost $218.

All trees will be provided and planted by Stran’s Garden Center and have a 100% guarantee for the first year.

Orders are being accepted until Oct. 9.
