Virtual Ecumenical Prayer Vigil for social change, justice and equality to be held Saturday

A virtual ecumenical prayer vigil will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 11. The prayer vigil can be viewed online on Facebook Live @newhopembc.

Topics of the prayer vigil include justice, equality and change. The prayer vigil, led by local pastors and artists, will feature spoken word, poetry, music and sermonic reflections.

Please have a candle available for lighting.

The prayer vigil is supported by multiple churches in the community, including: First Lutheran Church, First United Methodist Church of DeKalb, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, First Congregational United Church of Christ, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Grace Place, the Federated Church of Sycamore, The Inclusive Collective, St. George Greek Orthodox Church, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of DeKalb and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
