BREAKING: DeKalb police issue warning to avoid South Fourth Street due to motorcycle crash

DeKALB ­ DeKalb police are asking residents to avoid South Fourth Street from Barb Boulevard to Taylor Street until further notice, as officers respond to a motorcycle crash.

The warning was sent by citywide alert from the DeKalb police at 9:04 p.m. Tuesday.

The crash occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, DeKalb County traffic scanners show. First responders asked for a helicopter to be staged at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital.

The crash involved a car and a motorcycle in the 1100 block of South Fourth Street, with injuries reported.
