DeKalb library to host virtual informational session on RAMP

DeKALB – There are 54 million Americans living with a disability. That’s 1 in 5. However, it is not only people with disabilities who are concerned about disability related issues. More than 29% of families in the US have one or more members with a disability.

The DeKalb Public Library will host a virtual informational session on the services provided by RAMP, a nonprofit organization that promotes an accessible society that allows and expects full participation by people with disabilities. The program will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3.

Topics include the Fast Track program that lays the foundation for high school students with disabilities to reach their full potential and Project SEARCH, a business-led, one-year, school-to-work transition program that takes place entirely in the workplace.
