Training offered for nonprofit staff, volunteers, board members

For the second consecutive year, a series of workshops for staff, volunteers and board members of local nonprofit organizations will be offered in Sandwich.

The series is led by the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership, a program of the DeKalb County Community Foundation, in collaboration with the Sandwich Area Chamber of Commerce, the Sandwich Public Library District and Fox Valley Community Services.

The Nonprofit Essentials Training Series is open to anyone affiliated with a nonprofit organization and is being offered free of charge. Each workshop is hosted at the Sandwich Public Library, 925 S. Main St.

The entire series focuses on fundraising, with workshops on Sept. 24, Oct. 22 and Nov. 19. Trainings take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and are presented by Kristin Miller, a seasoned nonprofit consultant and director of advancement for the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Northern Illinois University.
